Breaking Down Your Gas Bill
When you receive your monthly bill, you’ll notice it’s organized into three main sections.
Top Section: Account Information & Messages
At the top of your bill, you’ll see the True Natural Gas logo along with Coweta-Fayette EMC Natural Gas (CFEMC). True Natural Gas is a subsidiary of Coweta-Fayette EMC, an electric membership corporation. Previously known as Coweta-Fayette EMC Natural Gas, the company continues to operate with a unique relationship to its parent organization. Profits from natural gas services are returned to the EMC, helping keep electric costs lower for members.
This section also includes a message center where you may find important updates or notices. Other information displayed here includes:

Middle Section: Your Usage and Charges
The middle portion of the bill shows exactly how your total charges are calculated. Here you’ll find a detailed breakdown of your gas usage, taxes, and any applicable service charges.
You’ll also see a bar graph showing your gas consumption over several months. This makes it easy to track changes in your usage and identify seasonal trends.
One charge listed on your bill may be labeled AGL. This refers to Atlanta Gas Light, the company responsible for delivering natural gas through the pipeline system. The AGL Base Charge is a regulated utility fee that covers services such as pipeline delivery, system maintenance, and meter reading. This charge is a pass-through cost and remains the same regardless of which natural gas provider you choose.
Bottom Section: Charge Calculations
The final section of the bill provides a transparent calculation of your gas charges along with additional AGL-related information. This ensures you can clearly see how every part of your bill is determined.
